Aki Ranin / CTO @Bambu

Aki is the founder of two startups in Singapore: Bambu in Fintech, and Healthzilla in Healthtech. The common thread in his companies and interests is intelligent automation through applied data. Aki holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Aalto University in Finland and writes frequently on Medium about startups, philosophy, and technology.

Alban Salord / Head Business Financial Crime Risk @HSBC

Alban’s career spans more than 20 years during which he moved from academia (law), to international contract negotiation, to risk management in the banking industry. He moved to banking and Asia over 12 years ago after studying and working in France, the United Kingdom and Australia. His banking career focused mostly on compliance and fighting financial crime within large banks, both in the second and in the first line of defence. In his current role, he heads the Business Financial Crime Team for Asia Pacific RBWM at HSBC, and has developed a keen interest in the use of new technologies to support better anti-financial crime controls. He is passionate about building teams and people and spends a significant amount of his time coaching and mentoring, including with children at risk in Singapore.

Andreas Wenger / APAC General Manager @IMTF

Since 2011, Andreas is active in Singapore and has acquired a deep understanding of the different challenges banks face today operating in this region. Before, he was working as a management consultant on projects with local and international banks. After 9 years in consulting, Andreas joined IMTF group in 2018 as APAC General Manager. His experience encompasses business and technology transformation, RegTech, front office strategies and processes, TOM definition and post-merger integration. Before entering the business world, Andreas studied at ETH Zurich in Switzerland and holds a master degree in physics with specialization in astroparticle physics. After the master thesis, Andreas did his PhD in particle physics at CERN in Geneva and Fermilab in Chicago.

Carina Zuber @Investment Navigator

Carina is an international banking expert with lots of experience in intercultural team work, as she has worked, studied and lived in more than six countries, across three continents, and with more than 25 nationalities in the past 20 years. She left banking to join Investment Navigator as Regional Managing Director last year. Investment Navigator is a Swiss WealthTech company with clients like UBS, DBS, or LGT. Carina builds the Asian business from scratch for this boutique Software-as-a-Service provider.
Furthermore, Carina holds an MBA from Singapore Management University and IE Business School and was honored by the Beta Gamma Sigma Association for her top academic achievements. Her colleagues awarded her also with the “Best Mama/Papa Award”.

Luca Burlando / Manager @BV Ventures

Luca is a Manager at BVV, supporting companies in creating the future they envision. Passionate about how technology is used to change the status quo, Luca is an enthusiast at heart and a pragmatist by trade, looking at how innovations bring positive change to customers around the world. With a background in traditional finance (sell and buy-side) he branched out into the technology sector operating as COO of a tech startup in Europe. Luca has been in Asia since 2015, and an active promoter of the innovation coming out of this part of the world.

At Xfers Aymeric is leading StraitsX, the stablecoin initiative for Southeast Asia. Aymeric obtained his MBA from INSEAD in Singapore and has 8+ years of experience in Strategy and Operations in the financial sector in Asia.

Joeri van Geelen / Managing Partner APAC @Prysm Group

Joeri built his expertise in distributed ledger technology and supply chain management over the past 8 years when he worked in various management roles with Shell, Gazprom, Siemens, Equinor and Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. He earned multiple degrees in International Business and Management from top tier universities (e.g. Harvard Business School, Rotterdam Schoool of Management, Norwegian School of Economics, University of Groningen and Unversity of Nottingham).

Johnny Mayo / General Manager @SuperCharger KL

Recognised by Forbes in the 2016 Asia 30 under 30 list, his unique experience of creating, managing and advising companies has helped him achieve notable results for his clients in both the public and private sectors as well as academia. With more than a decade of consulting, marketing, business development and project management experience across Asia Pacific, he has played a leading role in championing technological innovation across the region, working with regional banks, national regulators, and governmental bodies on how they can best understand, adopt and implement new technological trends.

Kasun Perera / Head of Data Science

An academic turned entrepreneur, Kasun has published over 10 scientific papers with 100+ citations during his academic career across Asia, Middle East and Europe. Lastly, he started his own FinTech firm PinAlpha Pte Ltd and also won the Golden Ticket at first F10 hackathon in Singapore. At PinAlpha he managed to win contracts from world’s leading financial institutions.

Mat Peyron / VP of Venture Development @Aegon

Mat is a global fintech executive and entrepreneur with 20 years of technology disruption in financial services in Silicon Valley, Europe, and Asia. Mat currently works at Aegon where his role is to build, buy or invest in fintech businesses across Asia. He is also a partner and co-founder of the venture fund Off the Grid Ventures. Prior to moving to Asia, Mat helped build the financial services vertical at QuinStreet (Nasdaq: QNST) and was the CEO of Wheelhouse.com a demand generation company focused on B2B technology. Mat holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich and an MBA from Wharton.
